PET POLICY AND USEFUL INFORMATION
Please follow our dog policy and safety tips to ensure your pet enjoys their trip.

PET POLICY
Your dog is very welcome at Kinlochlaich House free of charge but please follow our pet policy - don't allow your dog onto the furniture or leave it unattended in the apartment, and let us know straightaway if your dog has an accident or causes any damage in the apartment. There are many areas for exercise directly from the apartments but please make sure you keep your dog on a lead in the grounds of Kinlochlaich House as we have free range poultry, sheep and deer in the gardens. Please pick up after your dog.

By bringing a dog you agree to the above.

SAFETY
On the surrounding hills, there may be livestock or nesting birds so please keep your dog under tight control. Please also note that stag stalking now takes place all year round so be sure to follow advice on staying on paths and keeping dogs on leads (see www.outdooraccess-scotland.scot).

You might want to consider having your dog treated for ticks before you arrive (we use natural repellents, ask your vet for advice). It is essential to check your dog for ticks and to bring a tick remover, especially if they have been in grass or on the hill in the warmer months. We find the key type ones are best as they get closer to the skin for removing smaller ticks (it is important to remove the head as well when removing a tick).
Please be aware that the environment can be dangerous in many areas, especially for dogs not used to this terrain with sudden drops and very fast flowing water. Take care if letting your dog swim in lochs as the water can be extremely cold. Another potential danger to be aware of, particularly during prolonged periods of hot weather, is blue-green algae which can sometimes be found in lochs, rivers and seas (throughout the UK). More information can be found online.
