WHERE TO EAT

All our apartments have well-equipped kitchens (or, on a nice day, why not have a barbeque in the courtyard?), but you’ll also have plenty of choices when it comes to eating out. As we are in a rural location, please do check opening times. Booking is often necessary. If you have special requirements, please get in touch and we'll try to recommend the best places to eat.
In The Village
You can walk to The Old Inn, which overlooks Castle Stalker. Established in 1690, it is one of the oldest Highland inns and has a charming, rustic atmosphere. Famous for its steaks, The Old Inn doesn’t offer a wide choice of vegetarian food but is thoroughly recommended for carnivores. Dog-friendly booking is essential: +44 7725 409003 (Tues-Sat, no children after 7 p.m.).
The Pierhouse in Port Appin (ten minutes by car) is a seafood restaurant with beautiful views across to Lismore. It is ideal for those who enjoy fish, but there are also a few meat and vegetarian options available on the menu. It's also nice for a relaxed brunch. Some tables are dog-friendly, and booking is always essential.
Further afield, we also recommend The Holly Tree at Kentallen (a 15-minute drive). This restaurant offers good seafood and caters to other diets. It also has lovely views across Loch Linnhe.

In season (March - Oct) Tralee Bay Fish and Chips does good takeaway fish and chips and homemade pizza, please preorder +44 (0) 7899 324421. About 15 mins drive - why not take stroll down to Tralee beach?

The Wild Cat is a café that serves vegan food for breakfast and lunch. It is very popular, which can make it difficult to find a seat during busy times.
The Highland Soap Company is set on the River Lochy next to the ruins of 13th-century Inverlochy Castle, offering stunning views of Ben Nevis. The cafe is dog-friendly and features good cake and coffee, along with breakfast and lunch.
Oban
The Coast Restaurant is popular with locals and visitors alike. This contemporary-style restaurant serves delicious food and caters to different diets. The portions are not the biggest, but they offer excellent cooking and service.
The Waterhouse Fishouse has lovely views of the busy Oban Bay and serves freshly landed, fine local catches.
Ee-usk is in a glass building by the harbour, offering fresh, local seafood. No children under the age of 12 are permitted in the evening, and reservations are encouraged.
